Century 2 Entertainment announces the signing of Marty Raybon as one of its Premier Attractions. Marty Raybon is known primarily for his role as the lead singer of the award winning country band “Shenandoah”, a role which he held from 1984 to 1995. As a member of Shenandoah, Marty recorded under three different major recording labels including Columbia, RCA, and Liberty (the Nashville division of Capitol Records). With Marty Raybon’s distinctive voice out front, the group amassed an impressive discography which includes twenty-two Tp-40 singles. Of those Tp-40’s, 13 of them reached the number one position in the Country Music charts. Other notable accomplishments are the groups four Top-40 albums including numerous appearances in both the County and Pop Album charts, CashBox Vocal Group of the Year, R&R Top Single of the Year, CMA Country Event of the Year, Academy of Country Music Awards Vocal Group of the Year and numerous other major awards. In 1995 Marty Raybon left Shenandoah to embark on a solo career. As the voice of Shenandoah, he was readily accepted by the industry. He recorded his first solo album, self-titled “Marty Raybon”, which was released on the Sparrow Records label. Later, he and his brother Tim formed a duo known as the Raybon Brothers, which achieved crossover success in with their hit single of "Butterfly Kisses". The Raybon Brothers split up in 1997 and Marty resumed his career as a solo artist. He released a second self-titled album which was released in 2000, followed by 2003's “Full Circle”. In 2006 he released “When the Sand Runs Out” which included the single "Shenandoah Saturday Night", a song whose lyrics reference the titles of Shenandoah's hit singles. Marty Raybon is said to have one of the purest country voices ever placed in front of a microphone. According to Century 2 President, Marty Lyon, “This guy (Marty Raybon) deliver a song with true heart and soul, he’ll make you feel like he singing just to you” Today Marty is still delighting audiences around the country with that instantly recognizable voice just a pure, just as clear and just as polished as it was twenty five years ago when the journey began. He is an American Treasure and a sure bet to someday be a Country Music Hall of Fame member.
